It’s back with an upgrade to a stainless steel case, stainless steel watch cover, and sapphire crystal glass!!

We’ve reissued the classic AN5740 Master Navigation Watch so it can be used not only as a pocket watch but also as a wristwatch.

This is the navigation pocket watch used by the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II.

The model name is “AN5740.” The “A” stands for ARMY, and the “N” stands for Navy. We’ve fitted this pocket watch with a specialized case to create a timepiece that can be enjoyed as either a wristwatch or a pocket watch. (Design patent registered)

Even today, there are watches that transform a pocket watch into a wristwatch by encasing it in a leather cover. However, this inevitably results in a large, bulky design. The strap cover hides the pocket watch’s form, compromising its original shape and atmosphere.

While the method of welding on lugs is certainly simple, it means you can never enjoy it as a pocket watch again. With this product, however, you can enjoy it both as a traditional pocket watch and as a wristwatch.

Unlike the AN5740 with its black dial, this is a reissue of a dial considered a “legend” even among collectors, with only a very small number still in existence. It is extremely rare, and it seems certain that it was issued only to a select few pilots heading out on long-range strategic bombing missions. The large dial features a black-and-white color scheme that ensures high visibility and allows for intuitive distinction between AM and PM, making it a design-wise excellent piece.

It has been resized (reducing the diameter by approximately 5 mm to 46 mm) to make it more comfortable to wear as a wristwatch. It has also been reissued as a battery-powered quartz watch. Thanks to the large dial, the time is easy to read even on a 24-hour watch.
