Fab Four In the 1970s, the British Ministry of Defense sought the “ideal military chronograph” for combat use to be issued to pilots in the Royal Air Force (6BB), Royal Navy (0552), and, to a lesser extent, the Army (W10). It placed orders for military chronographs with identical specifications across four different manufacturers. ① Identical specifications, ② the same movement, ③ at the same time, ④ orders distributed among four companies—it is rare in British military history for all these conditions to have been met simultaneously. The design and functionality must have been exceptionally confident. The term “Fab Four” (meaning “the fabulous four” or “a quartet”) derives from the fact that “The Beatles,” a quartet of superstars who emerged in Britain around the same time, were also known as the “Fab Four.” This model was the first to feature a stopwatch with two buttons instead of one, making it a timepiece capable of accurate, repeatable, and safe measurements requiring judgment. Its most distinctive feature is the asymmetrical case, which physically protects the crown and pushers—located on the right side, the most vulnerable part—by raising that section of the case. 
▪ FAB FOUR Matte Black  Item Number: FAB-BL-CLF Just like the original, this model features a matte black, non-reflective dial with tritium luminescence; since it contained radioactive material, the symbol Ⓣ was printed on it (our product does not contain any radioactive material). The luminescence is applied to all numerals—excluding “12” and “6”—and the dot indices. While the luminescence fades over time due to the half-life (approximately 12 years), the cream-colored discoloration (aging) of the dial has become a distinctive charm, which we have faithfully reproduced. Furthermore, the Broad Arrow (↑), signifying British government property, is printed above the 6 o’clock position, just like the original. Strap: Comes standard with a brown genuine leather strap. Fits wrist circumferences of approximately 14 cm to 20 cm. ▪
