Manual winding when used as a pocket watch; automatic winding when worn on the wrist. It marks the passage of time. A mechanical model designed to let you “feel” time.

This watch pays homage to a British timepiece from 1904. The dial features Roman numerals. The accuracy of timepieces—which was once a matter of life and death—has improved dramatically. While war was one contributing factor, railroads played a significant role even before that. In the UK, as the railway network expanded, each railway company managed its own time based on the time set at its headquarters, and at major transfer stations, the times for each company were displayed. As a result, confusion regarding connections and transfers occurred frequently. In the United States, during the era of single-track operations, collisions and accidents occurred frequently, resulting in the loss of human lives. To reduce accidents, a common standard time was deemed necessary. By 1848, railroad companies had agreed on a standard time based on Greenwich Mean Time, and people began setting their clocks to this time. To honor the original design, only the dial features luminescent markings, while the hands are non-luminescent.
